ESTATE PLANNING AND ADMINISTRATION
Each estate plan developed by Morris Law Group is customized to meet clients' specific goals. The common
objective in all plans is to efficiently transfer assets to chosen
beneficiaries with the least possible tax impact. This requires the
complex evaluation of income, estate, gift and generation-skipping taxes
on the estate. The firm then implements the appropriate planning tools,
including trusts, gifting programs, insurance planning, charitable
planning and private foundations.
CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS
Many clients are interested in charitable planning as
part of their estate plan. This can be accomplished by structuring
charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trusts, charitable gift
annuities and private foundations.
BUSINESS SUCCESSION PLANNING
The firm has considerable experience serving the special
needs of closely-held businesses. We formulate plans for the transfer of
ownership and control of the business from one generation to the next with
the intent of minimizing taxes and preserving corporate assets. We prepare
restrictive shareholder and partnership agreements and corporate
reorganization plans, solve liquidity issues for tax obligations, and
structure stockholder buy-sell agreements. We also work with clients who
have accumulated balances in their 401(k) and profit sharing plans, as
well as their Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs).
PROBATE ADMINISTRATION
Morris Law Group represents individual
fiduciaries, personal representatives, trustees and other fiduciaries in
connection with the administration of probate estates and trusts. We
prepare federal and state estate, inheritance, generation-skipping and
gift tax returns for fiduciaries, and represent fiduciaries in tax audits
and controversies.
